Steam store page for fanservice-heavy bullet hell shooter Caladrius 2/Dark Element suddenly disappears ahead of December release

It's not yet known what caused the delisting.

The Steam page for Kaminari Games’ upcoming 2D bullet hell game Caladrius 2/Dark Element disappeared from the platform on October 28, a few months before its planned December 10 launch. The game is set to release on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

According to SteamDB, several changes were made to Caladrius 2/Dark Element’s Steam page before it was taken down. This included removing several mature content descriptors and tags, such as “Frequent Nudity or Sexual Content” and “General Mature Content” (this also applied to the game’s DLC). The game’s restrictions in Saudi Arabia, Germany, and China were removed as well. The store name, release date, and description were the last to be deleted, making it impossible to view the Steam page.

A sequel to 2013’s Caladrius, Caladrius 2/Dark Element takes place in a dark gothic world “where beauty and darkness intertwine.” You take control of various characters, each of whom pilots their own specialized airship with unique abilities and Element Shots (special elemental attacks that can turn the tide of battle). Unique to the series is the Shame Break feature, which reflects the damage a ship takes by displaying the pilot in varying stages of undress, in a suggestive but non-explicit fashion. Shame Break affects male and female pilots regardless of their allegiance.

While it’s not known whether Caladrius 2/Dark Element’s adult themes contributed to the removal of its Steam page, they certainly limit those who can see the game. AUTOMATON has reached out to developer MOSS (owner of Kaminari Games) for comment.

Caladrius 2/Dark Element is set to release on December 10 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
