Japanese indie development studio Charon has announced that its psychological horror visual novel Spring at Dawn, I Am a Monster, is coming to Steam on August 20.
Spring at Dawn, I Am a Monster puts you in the shoes of an elementary school Japanese language teacher who visits the homes of students who have stopped attending school, in hopes of helping them.

Struggling with dependency, obsession, family problems and loneliness, the three “shut-in” heroines each have their own circumstances, mental troubles, and secrets they cannot tell anyone. As their teacher, your job will be to face each of the students, and help alleviate their pain. However, your good intentions and kindness alone may not be enough to “save them.”

The way you build your relationship with the girls will affect their futures. Depending on the words you choose and the way you close the distance with them, the branching narrative will take you to a total of 16 different endings. Five endings for each of the three girls, and the final, “Teacher Route” unlocked after you’ve witnessed all the other 15 branching paths.

While video and livestream coverage of the 15 endings are allowed, publicly showing parts of the “Teacher Route” in any form is prohibited, suggesting at a big plot twist at the end of the game.
Asides from developing Spring at Dawn, I am A Monster, studio Charon is also currently working on the time-loop visual novel Ake no Yosuga – Twilight Loop, and the Touhou inspired bullet hell shooter SANASANA.
Spring at Dawn, I am A Monster will launch for PC (Steam) on August 20.
