Following the massive success of Silent Hill f, Konami has announced that the game sold over two million units worldwide as of April 22. This includes physical edition and digital sales on all platforms.
Developed by NeoBards Entertainment and published by Konami, Silent Hill f was supposed to follow in the series’ footsteps, with a plot centering on religious cult that pulled the strings in the background. Following numerous discussions between writer Ryukishi07 and producer Motoi Okamoto, it was decided that the story would lean more into Japanese mythos, trusting audiences to embrace the experience – and luckily, it seems to have worked.

While Silent Hill f topped Japanese store charts and game awards, it also amassed a worldwide following thanks to fan-made memes, art, and theories. Even the Japanese actors who lent their talents to the game got in on the action, as most of them have played it to completion. Despite its dark themes and atmosphere, Silent Hill f’s success proves that there is still an audience for the franchise’s brand of psychological horror.
