It’s been one year since South Korean development studio D-ZARD released Princess Maker: Children of Revelation in Early Access. In that time, the game experienced some ups and downs, including external developer GEAR2 stepping in following lay-offs at D-ZARD. However, with recent large-scale
The latest title in the Princess Maker series of bishojo games, Princess Maker: Children of Revelation has you raising a young girl named Karen Daidoji (who was the protagonist in the quiz adventure spin-off, Princess Maker Q) into a proper lady. As her parent, you set her meals, choose her clothes, and plan her activities. Daily tasks include studying, learning magic, and tending to farm animals, all of which boost Karen’s proficiency in different skills. Participating in these activities also allows you and her to develop relationships with other characters, which can turn into lifelong commitments.

Everything is not all sunshine and rainbows, though, as the world you inhabit is full of demons. Though it is bad parenting, proper exploration and demon hunting according to your Karen’s strengths can lead to experience boosts and useful treasure.
At the end of each playthrough, you’ll receive one of 53 different endings and a quick summary of your daughter’s journey. You’ll also receive a Destiny Card, which allows for easier successive playthroughs.

Princess Maker: Children of Revelation’s 0.9.7 update adds a ton of new content, including five new dresses for Karen, a new Destiny Card, and changes to how your schedules influence which ending you receive. Several bug fixes have also been implemented. As for future updates, GEAR2 plans to improve the quality of the game’s language support and include an Event Album that lets you view all of the event illustrations you acquired. Several new endings are also in the works.
Princess Maker: Children of Revelation is available in early access for Windows, SteamOS, and Linux (Steam).
