Pico Park studio TECOPARK released a statement on October 13 urging Nintendo Switch 2 users not to purchase the original game for the time being. The developers have become aware of a bug exclusive to the platform that makes certain parts of the game unplayable.
The statement comes in response to reports of Switch 2 players getting stuck on completely blank screens while in World 1-2, making progression impossible. Since there had been no updates to Pico Park that altered the game’s code, the studio initially attributed the issue to players’ network environments. However, the sheer number of reports has led it to conclude that something else is responsible. While the details remain unknown, TECOPARK is looking into possible causes, including the possibility that a Nintendo Switch 2 system update may be related.
In addition to the public announcement, TECOPARK is currently inquiring about the possibility of temporarily suspending distribution of the game on the Nintendo eShop. Meanwhile, the studio will continue to investigate the root cause of the bug and work on a fix. You can keep an eye on the status of Pico Park on the Nintendo Switch via the game’s official X account.
Pico Park is available on Windows (Steam and Microsoft Store), as well as Nintendo Switch 1 and 2.
