“No need to buy one billion RAM.” Danganronpa 2×2’s PC specs have been updated to more visual-novel-appropriate requirements
Spike Chunsoft has updated the PC requirements for Danganronpa 2x2 initially announced in September.

Spike Chunsoft recently updated the PC requirements for Danganronpa 2×2, replacing the initial specifications that were announced via the game’s official channels in September. The PC requirements (found on the game’s official webpage) are now far more in line with what one would expect from a visual novel game.
There is now less of a difference between the minimum and recommended specifications to play the game. Players now need at least an Intel Core i5-10500 or Ryzen 5 2600X processor, 8GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT graphics card. Those looking to experience the game at higher resolutions will need an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 6600 graphics card or higher to experience it with recommended specs, or an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT to see it in full 4K. Danganronpa 2×2’s file size has also been decreased from 40GB to 30GB.

This is far more manageable (and affordable) than the initial requirements, which called for an Intel Core i7-14700 or AMD Ryzen 7 7700 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 or AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT graphics card, and 32 GB of RAM to run the game on its recommended specs. To put things into perspective, these requirements are closer to the kind of specs needed for graphics- and combat-intensive games such as Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds and Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
After fans expressed shock at how high the initial requirements were, Spike Chunsoft producer Shohei Sakakibara reassured them that the specs were set with “4K high-quality settings in mind” and promised that they would be updated. He also addressed speculation that the Nintendo Switch version of the game would run poorly based on the initial specs, reassuring fanst hat the game was properly optimized for the platform.
Danganronpa 2×2 is scheduled to launch on January 14, 2027, for Windows (Steam and Epic Games Store), Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
