Muv-Luv’s dark political mecha spin-offs Schwarzesmarken: Bloodstained Crest and Schwarzesmarken: The Martyrs to release on Steam

The original games released in 2015 and 2016, with previous plans for a Steam release falling through.

Japanese adult game and visual novel studio âge has announced that Schwarzesmarken, a two-part spin-off visual novel based on the Muv-Luv franchise, is coming to Steam. Schwarzesmarken: Bloodstained Crest and Schwarzesmarken: The Martyrs will support Japanese and English, as well as Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

Schwarzesmarken is a dark sci-fi military drama that takes place in 1983 Germany of the Muv-Luv Alternative universe. It follows the East German Army’s 666th TSF Squadron “Schwarzes Marken,” a special task force whose goal is to fight the BETA (short for “Beings of Extra-Terrestrial origin which are Adversary to the human race”) as well as opponents from the corrupt STASI (short for “Ministry of State Security”). Schwarzes Marken’s assignments are of the highest priority, so much so that members are known to ignore distress calls from allies to complete their missions.

The title was originally released as a light novel series before being adapted into a visual novel game in 2015 and 2016 as Schwarzesmarken: Bloodstained Crest and Schwarzesmarken: The Martyrs, respectively. Developer âge actually considered a Steam release and English localization between the two parts’ release (the idea was also approved via Steam Greenlight), but plans stalled and did not come to fruition at the time. It took some time (at least ten years), but Schwarzesmarken is now finally coming to Steam.

Schwarzesmarken: Bloodstained Crest and Schwarzesmarken: The Martyrs are set to release on PC (Steam). More details, including release dates, will be announced at a later date via official Muv-Luv social media channels.
