Magic x Bureaucracy RPG Astrae Oratio showcases cast of eccentric magician girls, including an urban legend hunter who throws candy at enemies

Dynamis One released new gameplay and character footage for their upcoming magic-centered RPG Astrae Oratio.

South Korean developer Dynamis One and publisher NC have released a new video for their upcoming magic x bureaucracy RPG Astrae Oratio (officially abbreviated to “Asora”). While the previous trailer revealed the title’s gameplay, this one focuses more on the lives and backstory of the magicians under your command.

Asora is set in an alternate version of 1889 Tokyo, where magic exists, and technology, culture, and civilization are centuries ahead of our real world. You take on the role of the Shunin, a low-ranking public official in the mysterious institution known as the Special District Office. Your job is to oversee all the magicians in the city. This includes keeping a close eye on their administrative affairs, as well as making sure their identities are kept hidden from the public eye. The Shunin is also responsible for taking care of all magician-related incidents.

Erin Tanaka

The first character introduced in the trailer is Erin Tanaka. While Erin’s mother is of Irish descent, she was born and raised in Japan. After a chance encounter with her friends Riria and Anna in middle school, Erin discovers her aptitude for an ancient form of magic. Together with Riria and Anna, she gets caught up in several magician-related incidents across Tokyo, all while hiding her magical powers from her mother.

Luna Mitsukoe

The white-haired Luna Mitsukoe is the only daughter of the Mitsukoe family, the owners of a powerful real estate conglomerate. Little is known about the Mitsukoe family’s rise to wealth, only that it was due to a sudden surge in the value of their real estate holdings. In addition to ice-based magic, which she seems to have an affinity for, Luna can also be seen using some sort of magical firearm in combat.

Akina Akitsu

Akina Akitsu serves as the director of the Akina Urban Legend Research Institute. An urban legend hunter, she tracks down and exposes so-called myths using custom magical tools created by fusing alchemy and science. Akina also employs the use of items such as candy and bottles of Ramune (a popular Japanese carbonated drink) to fight enemies.

Mysterious Kyoto woman.

The end of the trailer shows a currently unnamed female dressed in a kimono. Judging by her Kyoto dialect and the dark aura surrounding her, this could be an outsider with plans against the Special District Office.

Astrae Oratio is set to release sometime in 2026. For more details, you can follow the game’s official webpage and X account.
