To coincide with Goddess of Victory: Nikke’s upcoming 2.5th anniversary and the announcement of the new SSR Nikke Little Mermaid (also known as Siren), Shift Up published a video featuring one of their artists creating an underwater Little Mermaid painting using colored pastel sticks. What’s even more amazing than the large mural itself is the fact that the artist didn’t use an oxygen tank for the duration of her underwater painting.
The artist’s prolonged underwater exposure is supposed to reflect how Little Mermaid was trapped underneath the ocean after falling from space. After finding a clue to her whereabouts from the Heretic Leviathan, the Nikkes Cinderella and Grave leave the commander and his team to search for Little Mermaid.

While the artist in the video isn’t a robotic Nikke, her dedication to her craft combined with careful oxygen management allowed her to complete the underwater painting over a total of 20 hours (source: Famitsu). You can see how she first traces the stencil on the canvas in pastel before coloring and adding in the finer details. Balancing your expressive artistic side while being oxygen-deprived can’t be easy, which makes the finished painting all the more impressive.
Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is available on Android, iOS, and PC. Its 2.5 anniversary event will begin on April 24, 2025, at 3 am PDT.
