Japanese indie developer Natsumikan has announced their new bio-investigation romance game Creara Select. As a new member of the Special Measures Division (SMD), you interact with the special organism known as “Creara” to determine the best way to weaponize her.

Creara is quite a unique specimen. Not only does she reveal spider-like characteristics when her heart rate spikes, but she also has eight different personalities locked within her. Your job for the next seven days is to observe Creara behind reinforced glass while conversing with her and providing food and recreational items. Once you’ve earned her trust, you can choose which of her personalities would serve the SMD best, or choose a different fate for her entirely.
Each of Creara’s eight personalities has a unique name and responds differently to certain stimuli. Some personalities are shy and don’t respond well to conversation. Others are more emotional and require you to choose more cautious responses. Not all of the personalities are observable from the beginning of a playthrough, incentivizing you to dig deeper into Creara’s psyche.

As you grow closer to Creara, she slowly starts to change. Her hair, expressions, and even clothing begin to match the personality you’re most attuned to, with that persona eventually winning out in the end.
Whichever personality you’re dealing with, you should always be mindful of Creara’s stress levels. As mentioned earlier, Creara exhibits more spider-like characteristics when her heart rate spikes. To reduce it, you have to provide the current leading personality with its favorite items (such as food and entertainment). As such, it becomes important to learn what makes each personality tick.

The information you gather on Creara’s personalities is kept in a personality database, which you can consult anytime. Information is carried over to succeeding playthroughs, and multiple runs are required to uncover all of the game’s secrets and discover all her personalities .
Though generative AI tools were used for programming support, text editing, brainstorming, and localization, Creara Select’s story concepts and visuals were created by Natsumikan.
Creara Select is set to release in 2027 for Windows (Steam).
