Capcom saw a significant boost in performance in the first half of this fiscal year (April to September 2026).

Today, Capcom announced its consolidated financial results for the first half of the fiscal year (April to September 2026). As reported by Game Biz, the company saw a significant boost in performance thanks to growing sales of both new and repeat titles, as well as an increase in profit in both its amusement facility and amusement equipment businesses.

According to Capcom’s report, overall revenue went up 49% year-over-year, while operating profit jumped up by 54.5% for the same period. Ordinary profit went up by 67.5% compared to the previous year, with net profit rising by 56.6%.

When it comes to the company’s core digital content (video game) business, sales for this fiscal period reached a total of 85.141 million yen (about 540k USD), a 70.8% increase compared to the previous year. Similarly, operating profit went up by 66.7%, totaling 52.308 million yen (about 332k USD). The strong performance was driven both by new titles and an increase in sales of Capcom’s back catalog, particularly for titles belonging to flagship series.

In particular, Pragmata, Capcom’s brand-new science-fiction shooter, sold over 2.7 million copies worldwide. Debuting as a new IP in April this year, the critically acclaimed title managed to surpass 1 million copies sold in just 2 days, hitting the 2 million milestone in more than two weeks. This year, Capcom also released Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the long-anticipated new installment in the Onimusha series, and the first mainline installment after 20 years. Since its launch on September 4 this year, the game has sold over 1.7 million copies.

As for repeat sales, Resident Evil Requiem, which released in the previous fiscal year ending March 2026, has surpassed 8 million units sold thanks to pricing strategies. Consequently, sales of past series entries such as Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 2 also witnessed an increase in sales. Titles in the Monster Hunter series have also seen a boost in sales after the announcement of the Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion, and Devil May Cry 5 surpassed 14 million units sold following its release on Nintendo Switch in summer this year.

Overall, the company has reached a total of 36.86 million units sold across its digital content business sector, significantly exceeding the 23.85 million units from the same period of the previous fiscal year.
