NC (formerly NCSoft) and DynamisOne have revealed that Astrae Oratio will release in 2027 for iOS and Android, followed by a PC release (source: Gematsu). The game has also received a new prologue trailer, with the developers confirming that the main story will be voiced in Japanese.
Astrae Oratio is an RPG themed on “bureaucracy and magic.” Set in Tokyo in 1889, during the city’s period of rapid postwar economic growth, the game depicts a world where magic users live alongside ordinary people. Players take on the role of Shunin – a low-ranking local government employee who suddenly gets assigned to the mysterious administrative body known as the Special District Office, which holds authority over Tokyo’s entire magical world.
As the government official responsible for Tokyo’s magic users, the protagonist must handle all manner of incidents involving a colorful cast of magical girls living in the city. Gameplay unfolds through strategic real-time 3D turn-based battles, while the story is told through visual novel-style game sections with dialogue choices.
At Tokyo Game Show 2026, Astrae Oratio will debut with its first playable demo, available from September 17 to 21. Application for the upcoming closed beta test are open until September 21.
