Automate golems with node-based coding and watch how they do in battle in upcoming Japanese dungeon RPG
Japanese developer Medium-Rare Games announced their upcoming title Algolemeth on December 19. The game is scheduled for release in 2024 for the PC (Steam) and will be available in English.
Algolemeth is a “fully automated” dungeon RPG in which you create autonomous Golems, form parties with them and send them to conquer a dungeon. The Golems act based on the combat logic you equip them with, so you need to analyze the behavior of enemies and create algorithms that will lead the Golems to victory. The idea is to figure out the right solution through trial and error.
Aside from combat, you can build algorithms to set up the exploration AI, which will control the general behavior of the party and automatically make situational decisions about things like who in the party should open a treasure chest and how much damage the party can take before retreating. By progressing in the dungeon, you can find upgrade parts, which boost the Golems’ physical power or unlock new actions to incorporate into their logic. As you unlock new parts, the scope of what you can do in the game will expand.
Medium-Rare Games, the developer of Algolemeth, was founded by Japanese indie developer Gunzee2, who has previously released a few titles on Unityroom. Algolemeth was initially revealed as a project in 2022, receiving attention on indie game events, and has now been officially announced along with a Steam page reveal.
Algolemeth is planned for release in 2024 for the PC (Steam).
