On November 27, Japanese game developer FuRyu announced their plans to release a PC port of their rogue-like RPG based on the anime/manga “Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs.” Entitled Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs: The Thrilling Steamy Maze Kiwami, the Steam title will be available in English. The release date has yet to be revealed.

Based on Tadahiro Miura’s manga, the PC game will be a port of the 2018 Japan-exclusive PS4 title “Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs: Steam Dungeon.” As the name implies, the game is a mix of dungeon crawling and hot spring bathing, with emphasis on the steamy side. The cute anime girl characters can get their clothes torn in battle and the trailer mentions “sexy bathing scenes.” The Steam version is set to feature English and Chinese language options, making it more accessible to international fans of the series.

In the game, the male protagonist Kogarashi is sucked into a magic box containing a miniature garden. The girls from the Yuragi Inn set out to rescue him by battling their way through dungeons. The game is fully voiced by the cast of the anime and features an original story that progresses as you complete each dungeon.

The player controls key characters from the series including Yuuna, Hibari and Yaya and must explore dungeons, collect items, and fight turn-based battles against demonic dolls. In a similar vein to Final Fantasy X-2, the girls can change in and out of a mixture of cute and revealing costumes to access different abilities. The dungeons hold many dangers, and the layout changes each time you enter them. If you are defeated by an enemy, you will be booted out of the dungeon and returned to Yuragi Inn, losing all your items.

The game’s strategy is to prepare at Yuragi Inn, explore the dungeons and then return to the inn to recharge. Here you can strengthen your character’s weapons by synthesizing them. Players should also aim to collect special soap from the dungeons, so that they can dispel evil spirits while bathing in the hot springs. Based on your efforts, you may get to view various special scenes featuring the different characters. You can also receive new items and abilities depending on how satisfied the girls are with their baths.

The PC version will apparently have a large amount of extra downloadable content, including purchasable DLC and limited edition DLC from the PS4 version. The DLC from the PS4 version will include additional characters and dungeons, events, costumes and weapons. It is likely that the additional content from the PS4 release will be included in the PC version from the start. FuRyu also mentioned that the purchasable DLC will be “reasonably priced.”

Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs: The Thrilling Steamy Maze Kiwami is set to be released worldwide on PC (Steam). Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs: Steam Dungeon is available on PS4 (Japan only).
