Tears of the Kingdom Ver. 1.1.2 fixes super loud audio bug

Nintendo released the update Ver. 1.1.2 for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on May 25. This update includes a fix for the infamous loud audio bug.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is an action-adventure game currently available for Nintendo Switch. It is the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. In the new game, the land of Hyrule is suddenly struck by unusual natural disasters – castles rise into the air and mysterious ruins rain down from the sky. In a world with an expanded earth and sky, Link, possessing new powers in his right hand, confronts the catastrophes in Hyrule.

Users had noticed that an extremely loud sound would play when they enter the Kamatukis Shrine in the game. Some even said that the sound was so incredibly loud that it would be followed by cracking noises. Apparently, the bug doesn’t occur all the time, but it was happening often enough to make the shrine infamous for the super loud sound.

Tweet Translation: (★Loud noise warning★) My first bug in TotK, the audio bug in the Kamatukis Shrine. The sound combined with the low bass from my speakers had me thinking there was an earthquake going on! I freaked out! #TearsOfTheKingdom

In the patch notes for this update it says, “Fixed an issue where the sound would play at an extremely high volume in certain conditions.” It’s not certain whether this note refers to the bug in the Kamatukis Shrine, but when I (the original author of this article) tried entering the shrine, the bug didn’t seem to be occurring. Perhaps players who don’t enjoy being startled by loud noises can now finally challenge this shrine with peace of mind.

Additionally, a fix was implemented for the main quest “Camera Work in the Depths” to resolve the issue of players not being able to progress beyond a certain point. By downloading the update, players will be able to proceed past that point. For more information, refer to the patch notes. Players on Reddit also noticed that the duplication glitches, which some had been using to their advantage, seem to have been fixed.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now for Nintendo Switch.
