Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Offline is an offline version of the MMORPG Dragon Quest X that was originally released for the Wii in 2012 and has since come out on Wii U, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC, and browsers. The offline version is set to release in Japan for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam). According to the Steam store page, the game is being co-developed by Square Enix and B.B. Studio (Bandai Namco’s subsidiary).

The game will initially include the Five Tribes, which is equivalent to the version 1.0 content of the online version, with some story changes. The developers are incorporating a new graphical technique called DD Rotoscope Rendering (DD stands for dots and deformation) to give the game a unique taste that’s different from the online version.

According to the producer Takuma Shiraishi, the game is being delayed to ensure its quality and provide the best experience possible. They needed the extra time to polish considering the substantial amount of content included in it. The specific release date will be announced at a later date.
