Rilakkuma anime in production by Ghost in the Shell studio Production I.G 

A new Rilakkuma anime was announced on October 20. Production I.G, the animation studio behind various well-known anime like Ghost in the Shell and Haikyu!!, is working on a new production featuring the lovable lazy bear mascot. 

Rilakkuma was originally created over 20 years ago as a mascot for Japanese stationery company San-X. Since then, the character has remained popular. In 2019, he starred in the stop-motion series Rilakkuma and Kaoru, which was broadcast internationally on Netflix and other streaming services. 

A trailer has been released for the new Production I.G Rilakkuma anime, but the release date has yet to be announced. The trailer features the upcoming anime’s theme song, Stay with me by Yoasobi vocalist Lilas Ikuta.
