“Very Positive” cozy life sim Japanese Rural Life Adventure is out on PlayStation

This follows the game's Steam and Switch release from March 2026.

Publisher G-MODE has announced that the cozy life sim Japanese Rural Life Adventure is available now on PlayStation 4 and 5. Developed by Game Start, the title originally launched on iOS in 2023, followed by a Nintendo Switch and Steam release in March 2026

True to its name, Japanese Rural Life Adventure is a game where you experience traditional life in the Japanese countryside. In a scenic pixel art world, you set up your house, tend to your yard, and grow crops to gradually become self-sufficient. The game puts an emphasis on experiencing the four changing seasons and unique Japanese seasonal traditions like cherry blossom viewing and summer festivals.

As you settle in the village, various events unfold depending on the season, location, and time of day. Villagers may ask you to help them out with various tasks and troubles, and as you interact, you’ll strengthen your relationships and unlock useful items as well as new areas to explore.

Alongside activities like farming, fishing, and bug catching, the game also comes with a cooking system that lets you simulate preparing a wide variety of dishes. Overall, the title offers around 100 hours of playtime.

Since its Steam launch earlier this year, Japanese Rural Life Adventure has earned a “Very Positive” rating on the platform out of 260 reviews, with its iOS version likewise topping Apple Arcade charts in Japan and the US.

As of November 6, the game is available on PlayStation 4 and 5, with a 20% discount available for PlayStation Plus users until November 19.
