Uta Macross offline version crowdfunding campaign reaches over 500% of initial goal, multiple console ports confirmed
The crowdfunding campaign for the offline version of Uta Macross has surpassed the 150 million yen stretch goal.

Japanese publisher AUGUST has announced that the Campfire crowdfunding campaign for Uta Macross has surpassed 150 million JPY (roughly $948k USD) in funding, a whopping 500% of its initial goal. Development of the planned console ports (multiple different platforms), which are scheduled to release after the iOS, Android, and Windows (Steam) versions, is now underway.
Uta Macross is a one-time purchase offline version of the now-defunct mobile rhythm game Uta Macross: Smartphone De-Culture. The title retains much of the original’s content (including the 3D live performance scenes and exclusive illustrations) while adding new features like improved UI elements and keyboard and mouse support.
While the original gacha system is still present, players will have unlimited free draws to upgrade the rarity of their Plates (collectible equipment cards). Several DLCs are also planned, including additional songs, Plates, and costumes from Smartphone De-Culture.

The game’s Campfire campaign launched on September 10 and is set to run until October 31. It achieved its target goal of 30 million JPY (about $190k USD) in just one hour and raised over 100 million JPY (about $630K USD) in just three days. After hitting its initial and stretch goals, Uta Macross is now confirmed to be in development for PC and mobile, as well as home consoles. More songs are also being added to the Uta Macross Super Dimension 3D miniLIVE event mode, as well as songs that were not available in Smartphone De-Culture.
Two final stretch goals were added on October 20. Reaching 180 million JPY (roughly $1.2 million USD) adds the Diva’s costume cosmetic, while reaching the final goal of 200 million JPY (roughly $1.3 million USD) allows the devs to add an additional set of new songs that were not included in Smartphone De-Culture. Both the Diva’s costume and extra songs will be sold as post-release DLC.
Uta Macross is set to release in Spring 2027 for Windows (Steam), iOS and Android. A console version is planned to release later.
