Tribe Nine to overhaul gacha system, dropping Genshin-like format in favor of higher drop rates

In response to player feedback, Akatsuki Games has announced big changes to Tribe Nine's gacha (Synchro) feature, including higher pull rates.

Akatsuki Games announced on February 26 that it will be implementing big changes to Tribe Nine’s gacha system.

Not long after Tribe Nine’s official launch on February 20, players started expressing dissatisfaction with the ARPG’s gacha feature. Called Synchro, Tribe Nine’s gacha allows players to pull gear and characters in exchange for currency called Enigma Entities. However, it’s been pointed out that pull rates and conditions for earning currency in-game are too harsh.

For example, three-star/SSR pulls have a 0.6% drop rate, and the pickup rate is 0.3%, like in HoYoverse games. In addition, players were not pleased with the amount of Enigma Entity you can earn as you play, noting that the beta version of Tribe Nine was more generous in this respect.

In response to the feedback, Akatsuki Games has decided to implement a big revision of the gacha system. The biggest change is that the drop rate for three-stars will increase from 0.6% to 2%, with the pickup rate being raised significantly from 0.3% to 1.5%. Drop rates for two-stars will increase from 5.1% to 8%.

In addition, there will be no changes to the game’s pity system, which guarantees a three-star after the 80th pull.  If the three-star character you get after 80 pulls is not the featured/boosted one, you will be guaranteed the featured character on your next three-star pull – this too remains unchanged.

Surprisingly, all Enigma Entities and Synchro Medals players have spent in Tribe Nine so far will be returned to them. This applies equally to currency spent in events and on standard pulls. Not only that, but players will be able to earn more Enigma Entities and Synchro Medals as they play. Commenting on the revision, Akatsuki Games apologized for undermining players’ trust and causing confusion.

Tribe Nine is out now for the PC (Steam), iOS and Android.
