The official Japanese X account for Too Kyo Games’ The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy recently confessed to making an oopsie – they have magnificently failed their own 100-day login challenge, breaking a successful almost fifty-day streak.
For context, back on January 14, Too Kyo Games launched a “Crazy 100-day login challenge,” counting down one hundred days until the game’s launch on April 24. Fans were encouraged to log in each day through the official website to receive a special certificate with their name on it, becoming eligible for a gift raffle.
To set an example for fans and fuel the hype for The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, the official X account has been participating in the login challenge too – posting daily updates on their progress. The game’s director Kazutaka Kodaka has often joined in on the fun, promoting the campaign with his usual humorous remarks, and a significant number of fans have been consistently keeping up with the 100-day challenge.

However, halfway through the challenge, something strange happened. The regular update reports from the official X account suddenly stopped on March 3. Instead, the account silently reposted login updates made by the game’s cast and voice actors.
Then, on March 5, Too Kyo Games finally spilled the beans – they’d failed the login challenge. Apparently, the PR manager who had been in charge of logging in every day took some paid leave and got too absorbed in “hunting” (we all know what that means) and forgot to log in for two days. The official X account encouraged fans who are “still alive” to persevere with the rest of the challenge.
The apologetic confession has been met with much amusement, and given that the reason for the blunder was Monster Hunter Wilds, people have nothing but understanding for the poor PR manager.
The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy’s demo is out now and “Overwhelmingly Positive” on Steam. The full game will drop on April 24 for the PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch.
