FuRyu, the Japanese publisher and developer behind JRPG titles like The Caligula Effect series, Crymachina and Varlet, has teased a brand-new project. On April 22, the company launched an official X account for a new console game under the username Project Alice.
The only post on the account is a mysterious and frankly quite spooky clip. Against a background of crackly noise, a girl’s voice can be heard chanting “I’m sorry, I’m sorry” in an almost trance-like state, before growing agitated and yelling “Don’t blame me! I know! Please stop it. I’m sorry! The images in the clip and the X account’s avatar and header appear pitch black at first glance, but upon further inspection seem to be artwork depicting a reddened, crying eye.
The teaser suggests whatever FuRyu is up to involves a good amount of angst and perhaps even horror. Apart from that, the only other piece of information we get is a date and time – April 25, 2026, at 20:30 (presumably JST). According to FuRyu, this is when we can expect a follow-up announcement on the mysterious game. Before the full-on reveal though, there will be more cryptic clues posted to the account over the course of the next three days. It appears the publisher is inviting users to piece together information and speculate about what awaits on April 25.
