Stellar Blade creator is angry with Elon Musk

The director of Stellar Blade took to X (formally Twitter) today to express his annoyance at Elon Musk. More specifically, it seems that Hyung Tae Kim does not approve of the social media platform’s latest change to say the least.

The X engineering team released a statement on Tuesday explaining that X post “Likes” are being made private with the aim of better protecting user privacy. Even though you can still see who liked your posts, you can no longer see who has liked other people’s posts. This follows the platform’s other recent change to allow consensually produced adult content that is properly labelled and not prominently displayed.

Regarding “Likes” being made private, Musk tweeted that it’s “Important to allow people to like posts without getting attacked for doing so!” However, the move to hide “Likes” has been widely criticized with users voicing concerns that it not only removes the basic reason for people liking things (i.e. To show others that they agree with something) but also makes it harder for users to decide who they want to follow or associate with. Many people, including Hyung Tae Kim have also opined that it will impact the social connectivity aspect of the platform- as people will no longer be able to follow each other’s “Likes” to find new content.

Kim also directly replied to Elon Musk in the post below, suggesting that hiding “Likes” should be an option, not the default:

Stellar Blade is available for the PS5.  An extensive photo mode for the game is still in the works.
