Square Enix announces new management structure meant to speed up business reforms and decision-making

As of April 2025, Square Enix will establish a new management committee dedicated to putting into action the company's new mid-term plan.

Square Enix’s president and CEO Takashi Kiryu announced on February 27 that the company will be making revisions to its management structure. From April 1, 2025, Square Enix will establish a new management committee and appoint new executive officers.

The changes come as part of Square Enix’s efforts to implement its new medium-term management plan, which was announced in May last year. This management plan defines targets such as: regular releases of AAA titles, a focus on quality over quality, prioritization of in-house development, an “aggressive” shift to multi-platform game releases, and bolder IP creation.

The new management committee will consist of Kiryu and seven other executives overseeing Square Enix’s game, publishing and corporate sectors. Its purpose is to speed up decision-making at the management level and accelerate the execution of the company’s business reforms. The members of the committee will be tasked with making sure that Square Enix’s mid-term business plan is put into action.

In addition, the company announced changes in executive personnel, newly appointing Toshiyuki Hirasawa and Toru Karasawa as executive officers.
