Open-world creature-catching RPG Honkai: Nexus Anima gets Spring 2027 release window. Final beta test set for November 25

Applications for the playtest are now open.

HoYoverse announced on November 5 that its open-world creature-collecting RPG Honkai: Nexus Anima is set to release sometime in Spring 2027. The studio has also opened applications for the game’s final beta test.

Honkai: Nexus Anima takes place in a world managed by Nexuses, invisible bonds that are woven between opposing concepts such as love and hate, light and darkness, and life and death. The Nexuses are severed following an incident that disrupts the world order, with their remaining power being transformed into Anima, creatures who come to co-exist alongside humans. You take on the role of a traveler exploring the world and encountering different characters and their stories. You’ll also catch Anima with different abilities and characteristics, with gameplay revolving around quests and strategic auto-chess style battles between Anima.

The game’s final beta test is scheduled to begin on November 25 for PC, iOS, and Android (an end date has yet to be announced). This version allows players to experience more of the story and gameplay improvements, as well as explore a good chunk of Iia, the game’s starting town. Players will be able to rest inside their personal camper van during their down time, as well as create rest areas for their Anima. The beta includes several different-colored adult Anima, as well as younger Anima.

Gacha adjustments have also been made for the final beta test, with the Limited-Time Eidos and Anima banners featuring the first exclusive 5-star Eidos and Anima respectively (obtaining the exclusive Eidos grants you their corresponding Anima).

The Nexus Area will be introduced, allowing players to assemble Anima teams and fight against others for a spot in the competitive ranks. Powerful enemies will also appear in different stages to add more challenge to the mode.

Interested players have until 1:59 AM UTC on November 22 to sign up on Nexus Anima’s official webpage and complete a playtest survey. Those who are feeling lucky can stand a chance to win test access by following the game’s official social media channels.
