Dramatic Create has announced that Ooe, a boys’ love (BL) visual novel originally released in two parts for PC, is coming to Nintendo Switch sometime this year. Developed by Japanese indie doujin game circle ADELTA, this console version includes voice acting for character Hinode, more playable episodes, and language support for Japanese, English, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), and Korean.

Ooe takes place on the fictional remote island of Ooejima, Japan during the Showa era. You play as Oosaki, a detective who receives a strange invitation to impersonate someone and attend the third-anniversary memorial service for a deceased actress on their behalf. However, things take a dangerous turn when the body of a dead servant is found, and the ship that is meant to take them back home never shows up. Now stranded on the island, the ten attendees (including Oosaki) struggle to unravel the mystery of the servant’s death and the ties that bind them.

All nine male attendees can be romanced, including the servant who dies at the beginning of the story. The number of romanceable attendees increases after completing the prologue, with more choices and character profiles being added upon completing more playthroughs. In addition to romance, Ooe also features some puzzle-solving elements.
The PC version of Ooe is rated for ages 18+ and has been acclaimed for its storytelling and troubled (but still handsome) characters. It is available in Japanese on DLsite, Animate Games, BOOTH, and FANZA (links contain NSFW content). There is currently no news on whether the Nintendo Switch version will retain the original’s content or will be adjusted for the console audience.
Ooe is set to release in 2026 for Nintendo Switch.
