New Puella Magi Madoka Magica game announced for 2024

While fans of the Puella Magi Madoka Magica franchise hungrily await new information about Walpurgisnacht Rising (the promised movie sequel to Rebellion), Aniplex has come out with a surprise announcement – a new Madoka mobile game.

On April 22, Aniplex announced Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra, launching the official website and X account for the title. The upcoming mobile game is set to be released by the end of 2024. Magia Exedra is being planned and distributed by Aniplex, managed by Pokelabo and developed jointly by Pokelabo and f4samurai. F4samurai already has experience with the franchise, as they were the developer behind the 2017 Japan-exclusive mobile RPG Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story: Magia Record.

While no specifics about Magia Exedra’s gameplay and setting have been revealed yet, a press release by Pokelabo suggests that the game will be predominantly 3D, “boasting high quality 3D graphics that reflect the worldbuilding of the titular franchise” (Source: PRtimes). The official website features original illustrations by the series’ character designer Ume Aoki and a curious image of a green-colored Kyubey.

  1. I wish these games were released West, but in my opinion if they have to change anything to get into the West I would rather it stay Japan only or be AI translated with a bilingual Japanese instead.
