Given the number of animal headgear pieces added to Monster Hunter Wilds, it’s a wonder Capcom took so long with the Palico headgear piece. After much waiting, hunters can finally create the Faux Felyne α headgear by completing the “Three Tails Better Than None” Event Quest.

Three Tails Better Than None pits you against not one, but three Quematrice in the arena-like Wounded Hollow. Thankfully, the Event Quest has a minimum Hunter Rank (HR) requirement of 16, which means almost anyone can participate.
Regardless of the difficulty, fighting three monsters simultaneously is no joke. If possible, use the levers in the middle of the arena to raise barriers that will temporarily isolate the Quematrice. While the monsters can prove challenging to corral, luring them into separate holding cells makes dealing with them much easier. Apart from separating them, be sure to take advantage of the Quematrice’s weakness to Water elemental attacks and susceptibility to Poison and Paralysis to quickly defeat each one.

Completing the Three Tales Better Than None quest awards you with the standard Quematrice rewards as well as a unique Felyne Ticket which is used to craft the Faux Felyne α headgear. Bring the required materials to Alma the blacksmith and she’ll forge you the Faux Felyne α headgear and its associated layered armor piece. Even if you choose not to use the headgear for its buffs, you can still transmog it over your favorite armor to look like your loyal companion.
The Three Tails Better Than None Event Quest runs until June 17 at 23:59 UTC. Monster Hunter Wilds is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
