Million-selling adult visual novel Senren Banka to get official anime adaptation in 2027 with original cast reprising their roles

Yuzusoft announces Senren Banka as their first ever anime adaptation, scheduled to air in 2027.

Japanese bishojo game studio Yuzusoft announced during Yuzusoft SONGFES 2026 that its popular romance visual novel Senren Banka will be getting an anime adaptation, with a release date set for 2027.

Originally released for Windows in Japan back in July 2016, Senren Banka follows the story of Masaomi Arichi, a second-year high school student who accidentally breaks an “unbreakable” sword in the stone when visiting the remote mountain village of Hoori. To atone for his mistake, Masaomi is forced into marriage with the shrine maiden Yoshino Tomotake. As he adjusts to his new life and fiancé, he finds himself learning more about the village’s “curse” and grows closer to three other girls.

Everyone from the Japanese voice cast of the original visual novel will return for the anime. This includes Sora Haruka as Yoshino Tomotake, Yuka Kotorii as Mako Hitachi, Mikan Sato as Murasame, and Sawa Sawasawa as Lena Liechtenauer. Kotoko, the artist behind the visual novel’s opening song, will be singing the opening theme song for the anime as well.

While Yuzusoft has been around since 2006, Senren Banka is the first of its titles to get an anime adaptation. Earlier in February, it was announced that the game surpassed one million units in worldwide sales, nearly ten years after its original release. The game’s recent successes and the new anime announcement make this a great time to be a Senren Banka fan.

Senren Banka is available for Windows (Steam) and Nintendo Switch.
