Marvel Rivals’ Invisible Woman owes her attention-grabbing butt to real life model
Those eagerly anticipating Season 1 of Marvel Rivals may have noticed some resemblance between the upcoming Strategist hero Invisible Woman and the psychic ninja Duelist Psylocke. Specifically, both characters share the same body model, who is none other than Turkish-American YouTuber and Twitch streamer ARUUU.
Before Marvel Rivals launched on December 6, 2024, ARUUU, also known as Alanya Alisha, explained on social media site X that NetEase Games told the body models to keep silent about their work on the game. Nevertheless, fans of her modeling and fashion career quickly deduced that she was in fact the butt model for Psylocke after taking a quick look at the character’s revealing Vengeance skin.
ARUUU confirmed soon after NetEase Games unveiled Marvel Rivals’ Season 1: Eternal Night Falls Official Trailer that her body dimensions were used once more as inspiration to create the in-game model for Invisible Woman. Though Invisible Woman’s base costume shows the work NetEase Games put into translating ARUUU’s behind into the game, her more revealing Malice skin (which is based on her appearance in issue 280 of the 1961 comic run “The Fantastic Four”) does a better job of showcasing the character’s butt.
Game developers occasionally take real-life models as inspiration for creating fictional characters. Stellar Blade’s Eve, for instance, has a physique inspired by South Korean influencer and model Jae-Eun Shin. Resident Evil 4 remake’s Ashley Graham was brought to life by three real-life models. Dutch model Ella Freya provided the basis for Ashley’s face while English model Sophie (also known by her online handle “PeachMIlky”) was Ashley’s body model. Canadian actress Genevieve Buechner provided motion capture for Ashley, giving the character a wide range of movements and emotions.
ARUU says she is thankful for the opportunity to contribute to Marvel Rivals, and that she never expected to be able to work on a video game. She goes on to say that ass far ass things go, her work on Psylocke and Invisible Woman is helping her make a pretty good name for herself in the gaming industry.
