Koei Tecmo significantly revises profit forecast thanks to strong sales of major game releases and back catalog
Operating profit is expected to be 64.2% higher than originally forecast.

Koei Tecmo has announced revisions to its financial forecast for the first half of the fiscal year (April to September 2026). As reported by GameBiz, although the company initially anticipated a double-digit year-on-year decline in profit, the new forecast cites significant growth across all revenue and profit metrics.
The performance is attributed to strong sales of major titles released between April 2025 and March 2026. During this period, Koei Tecmo launched titles like Ninja Gaiden 4, Nioh 3, Pokémon Pokopia, and Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake. The developer likewise cites high demand for its back-catalog titles. As a result, operating profit is expected to be 64.2% higher than originally forecast, seeing 44.3% growth compared to the previous fiscal year.
Additionally, Koei Tecmo expects ordinary profit (which also includes profits coming from non-core business activities such as investments and asset management) to be a whopping 108.3% higher than initially projected, seeing 40.4% growth year-on-year. For Koei Tecmo fans, this likely doesn’t come as a surprise given the company’s reputation for skillful investments.
