Japan’s retro arcade beat ‘em up Ninja Baseball League-Man comes to Steam 33 years after original release

Ninja Baseball League-Man: Bases Loaded is coming to Steam, PlayStation5, Xbox series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 on December 10.

Japanese developer Irem and publisher City Connection have announced a new HD remake of the 90s arcade beat ‘em up Ninja Baseball Bat Man is in the works. Newly titled Ninja Baseball League-Man: Bases Loaded, it is scheduled to launch on December 10. The announcement coincided with the reveal of the game’s Steam store page and official website.

Originally released by Irem in 1993, Ninja Baseball Bat Man was a side-scroller beat ‘em up developed for the arcade. Players take control of one of the four “League-Man” heroes, tasked with retrieving the Golden Baseball Statue from the Baseball Hall of Fame. The release of Ninja Baseball League-Man: Bases Loaded marks the first time the game is made available outside of arcade cabinets.

According to its Steam store page, Ninja Baseball League-Man: Bases Loaded will, like the arcade original, support up to four players locally. Alongside the original “Regular Season” game mode, a new high-difficulty arranged mode that alters enemy placements and adds new stages into the mix. Pink, originally a supporting character in the arcade release, will also be playable in the remake as a fifth character.
