Mega fans of Japanese VTuber Nana will be glad to know that the content creator has set up an official Ci-en fan club page, complete with monthly supporter tiers. While the lowest tier costs 500 JPY a month (roughly $3 USD) and allows you to view Nana’s diary entries and exclusive illustrations, the highest tier costs a whopping 100,000 JPY monthly ($600 USD), letting you engage in weekly one-on-one calls via LINE (Japan’s most popular messaging app) and join in on exclusive game sessions, in addition to most of the rewards from the lower tiers. Originally, the “Idol Girlfriend Plan” tier was limited to only one backer, though the VTuber is considering adding more slots in the future.

Though the idea of fans paying VTubers and other celebrities for personalized interactions is not unheard of, Nana’s Idol Girlfriend Plan (the highest tier subscription) has drawn criticism from fans for its high price and dubious integrity (the practice has drawn comparisons to Japan’s hostess clubs, which profit off of men who spend money to flirt and interact with attractive hostesses). While exchanging contacts allows top-tier supporters to participate in one-on-one calls with Nana, it does not leave them out of the meet-and-greets and calls included in the lower Idol Friends and Idol’s Best Friend plans.
