Japanese adult game developer Kiss recently announced that the crowdfunding campaign for its customization-heavy open world romance simulator Custom Romance City 3D3 had ended on May 31, amassing a total of 55.04 million yen (about $345.2k USD). Over the course of 38 days, and with the help of 1,541 backers, the game managed to raise 55 times the original goal, which was 1 million yen.
As reported by Game*Spark, the Custom Romance City 3D3 crowdfunding campaign had seen great success ever since its launch on April 24, hitting the 1-million-yen target in just a couple of minutes, and amassing 10 million yen in around 48 hours. Eventually, it ended up reaching all of its stretch goals (the highest one being 35 million yen), leading the developers to announce a new set of stretch goals on May 25, capping at 50 million yen. Amazingly, the project managed to reach all of the newly added goals as well, and still have an extra 5 million yen to spare.

In a message to fans, producer Yamato thanked backers for the overwhelming support, and promised to continue developing the game at full capacity in preparations for its launch on August 28. Apparently, Custom Romance City 3D3 has been in development for the past 6 years, but the developers will surely have their hands full implementing all of the new locations and outfits promised as stretch goal rewards over the next few months.

Custom Romance City 3D3 is set to be a new entry in the studio’s “Custom” lineage of games, continuing from the Custom Maid 3D2 and Custom Order Maid 3D2 series. Just like in the previous entries, the player will be able to fully customize their dream girlfriend, but this time, they have the whole open world of Romance City to take her on dates and explore their relationship. Of course, the players will first have to skillfully romance the girl, but once they do, the “paradise city created to liberate people from common sense and reason” will be all theirs.
Custom Romance City 3D3 is set to release on August 28, 2026 for PC (Windows).
