Japanese live-action dating sim where you reincarnate as a pet hamster and get spoiled rotten by three sisters is finally coming back after Steam store page removal

Kodansha's Sweet Hamster Days, originally announced in August 2025, is back on track after a temporary Steam removal.

Kodansha has announced that its unusual live-action romance sim Sweet Hamster Days is set to release on July 2026 for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store and DLsite). This is the title’s second release date announcement, as the first one (from back in August 2025) was followed by the unfortunate news that the game’s Steam store page got delisted due to “various circumstances.”

Half a year later, Sweet Hamster Days is set to come back. The title is a collaboration between Kodansha Game Lab and domestic photo magazine FRIDAY, casting Japanese actress and gravure idol Sayaka Tomaru, model and ballerina Momoha Takatsuru, and Shiori Ikemoto of idol group Teratera as Himari, Futaba and Miyu (aka the Shiratori sisters).

Sweet Hamster Days

You will be encountering these beautiful girls not as a person, but as a silly little hamster. The story follows protagonist Kota, who gets reincarnated following a traffic accident. Kota is isekai’d into a hamster right after coming back to his hometown, where he was supposed to reunite with the Shiratori sisters (who are his childhood friends), for the first time in six years.

From there, Kota gets adopted by the sisters and becomes their pampered pet, Hamta. As Hamta, you’ll be interacting with the three sisters either from your cage or the palms of their hands – taking naps, getting cuddles, and eating treats. Living as their pet, you’ll notice that the sisters’ relationship has become strained over the years for some reason, and you’ll make choices that will help you unravel the mystery and solve the issues between them.

Sweet Hamster Days

With a story penned by Ken Shimomura of Chain Chronicle and Onmyoji fame, Sweet Hamster Days is set to launch in July 2026 for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store and DLsite). The game will support Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. Ahead of the full release, Sweet Hamster Days will also participate in the Steam Next Fest starting June 16.
