Japanese denpa music rhythm game invites people to write delusional posts from the POV of a psychotic hikikomori to be featured in-game

Yunyun Syndrome!? Rhythm Psychosis's submissions will be open until April 21, in all 15 languages supported by the game.

Alliance Arts, the developer and publisher of Japanese indie game Yunyun Syndrome!? Rhythm Psychosis recently launched an unusual campaign for the upcoming title. The creators are encouraging people to channel their inner delusional hikikomori and submit completely unhinged text posts dedicated to the imaginary character Yunyun for a chance to be featured in-game.

Set to launch on April 24, 2026, Yunyun Syndrome!? Rhythm Psychosis is a rhythm adventure game that follows the story of “brainotted” protagonist Qtie, a shut-in girl who gets high on denpa music. After suffering trauma in real life and becoming “fuzzy in the head,” Qtie developed an obsessive love for the imaginary character Yunyun. She spends her time posting anonymously online, spreading conspiracy theories and her love for Yunyun to the world.

The game’s rhythm section comes with an all-denpa playlist of 30 tracks, including well-known Touhou songs like Cirnos’s Perfect Math Class and, as recently announced, Shigure Ui’s Shukusei!! Loli Kami Requiem.

Now, as Yunyun Syndrome!? Rhythm Psychosis’s release date approaches, the developers have launched a promo campaign calling for people to contribute their own Yunyun-worshipping posts, to be featured in-game as the propaganda Qtie posts online. They even give an example, which I won’t quote in full as it’s over 1.8k characters long, but a memorable part of it goes, “Yunyun is literally the whole world to me. She’s like air. I breathe her every day without noticing, but if she disappeared, I’d die immediately. So when someone asks “Who’s Yunyun?”, I get the urge to check the timeline. Maybe this is a world where Yunyun’s signals haven’t reached.”

Sumbissions for the campaign will be accepted until April 21, in all fifteen languages Yunyun Syndrome!? Rhythm Psychosis currently supports. Posts that get selected will be featured in the game’s rhythm sections, with respective creators credited in the end staff roll. Submissions can be sent through this Google Form, although it might be good to check out the detailed rules and terms of participation beforehand.

Yunyun Syndrome!? Rhythm Psychosis is coming to PC (Steam) on April 24, 2026.
