Isekai village-building ARPG in which you reincarnate as the neighbor of a beautiful idol demoness who habitually tries to raze your settlement coming to Steam in 2026

PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 releases planned for 2027.

Japanese publisher One or Eight and developer Team EARTHWARS recently announced Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL, a village-building action RPG scheduled for release on Steam in the winter of 2026, followed by a PS5 and Switch 2 release sometime in 2027.

If the super-long title feels awfully reminiscent of an isekai anime or light novel, that’s probably because Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL likewise takes a comedic spin on the genre. After your death, your soul is saved by a goddess, and you find yourself reincarnated into the fantasy world of Luna. Luna is in a state of ruin, subjugated by the sadistic Demon King who has left the rest of the population with nothing but scraps.

As a “Bounder,” a rare being gifted with the power of creation, you are entrusted by the goddess with a mission to rebuild Luna and restore peace. Living as the literal next-door neighbor of the Demon King, you’ll gather resources, recruit allies, tend to your fields, and develop your village. However, the Demon King, who happens to be an idol, won’t just stand by and watch this happen. Every time she holds a live concert in her castle, hordes of monsters will gather and descend upon your village in an attempt to destroy everything. You’ll have to team up with your villagers and fortify your defenses to fend them off, and defeating the powerful bosses will lead you to uncovering the hidden truth of Luna.

Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL comes with more than 20 classes and playstyles to choose from (like mage, warrior, guard or farmer) and your class is determined by wearing hats that carry the goddess’s power. You’ll also give these hats to villagers to assign them their roles in the settlement. Additionally, you can fine tune your combat style through blessings received by praying at Goddess Statues scattered across the field. These can yield attack power and speed buffs, and elemental effects among other blessings.

Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL is set to release in the winter of 2026 for PC (Steam). PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 versions are planned for 2027.
