This year, the Japanese anime industry saw the rise of Gundam GQuuuuuuX, the latest entry in Bandai Namco’s long-running Gundam series. With its theatrical release grossing 3.5 billion yen in the box office (about $23 million USD), and the TV series seeing high viewership and online buzz, it’s safe to say that Studio Khara and Bandai Namco Filmworks’s collaborative endeavor was a great commercial success. The publisher recently announced that several physical versions of the new mecha series’ will be released in 2026.

As reported by Otaku Soken, the physical edition of the Gundam GQuuuuuuX TV anime will be split into 3 volumes with 4 episodes each, releasing next year on January 28, February 25 and March 25 respectively. Aside from a limited-edition Blu-ray version and a DVD version, Bandai Namco Filmworks will release its first ever “diskless” version of the anime.
Just like its name suggests, the “diskless package” is going to be a physical package featuring a serial code, which will allow you to watch some special footage like the creditless openings and endings, and access the Gundam GQuuuuuuX audio drama for a limited time. The serial code is set to expire one year after the release date of the diskless package.
According to the Gundam official website, the diskless package corresponds to some of the bonuses available on the Blu-ray version, but will not actually feature the anime’s episodes, meaning that you will have to get either the limited the DVD version on the side, or resort to your favorite streaming service. The limited-edition Blu-ray package, DVD package and diskless package will be priced at 19,800 yen (around $130 USD), 6,600 yen ($43 USD) and 8,800 yen ($58 USD) respectively.
The physical edition of the theatrical release is set to go on sale on May 27 2026, as the 4K ULTRA HD Blu-ray+Blu-ray version and the DVD version.
