Publisher Waku Waku Games has announced Extreme Survival Club! a new title by ZephyrStudio currently in development for PC (Steam).
Extreme Survival Club! is an anime-style PvE extraction shooter. The story follows protagonist Moka Komori, a 19-year-old university student who enjoys reading and taking walks. In a completely normal turn of events, Moka is sold off by her friend as collateral for a debt and is forced to participate in a survival game on a deserted island. Together with other girls she meets there, she’ll embark on a whimsical but harsh survival adventure.
Gameplay in Extreme Survival Club! unfolds from a top-down perspective. The deserted island is scattered with food, crafting materials, equipment, and items you’ll need to clear quests. Since your backpack has limited capacity, you’ll need to carefully choose what to take with you during your limited-time expeditions. While exploring, you’ll also encounter and fight what appear to be other participants of the game, so managing your health and ammo will also be crucial for survival.

In addition to a hunger mechanic, you’ll also have to use the restroom. If you’re defeated, you’ll drop all the items you’ve collected, so another thrill comes from deciding when to back out or push deeper in search of greater loot.
Items brought back from your runs can be used to complete quests and expand you secret base. As the hideout develops, you’ll gain access to useful items for purchase and unlock stat upgrades that make future expeditions easier. The screenshots released so far also show the player trading items with the other girls. It appears players will develop their living environment by cooperating with “buddies” they meet on the island in various ways. The story branches into multiple endings depending on quest progression and your choices.

ZephyrStudio, the developer of this game, is an indie dev circle from Japan. Their previous title, Monmusu Gladiator, is a deckbuilding roguelite that has earned a “Very Positive” rating on Steam since its release in 2021.
Following Extreme Revival Club’s announcement, the studio’s leader Aoi Minato revealed on X that they are a fan of Escape from Tarkov, and that the project originated from them tinkering with the idea of a Tarkov with a “toilet mechanic.”
Extreme Survival Club! is currently in development for PC (Steam).
