Japanese game developer and publisher FuRyu has announced an HD remaster of EXSTETRA, coming to PC (Steam) in the Summer of 2026.
Originally released in 2013 for the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS, EXSTETRA is a fantasy JRPG where making out is everything. The story is set in a world where modern-day Tokyo has fused with another realm, causing it to mutate and face destruction. The protagonist, Ryoma, is a high school student suffering from amnesia who becomes the chosen savior of the world, known as “the Prisma.” He acquires the power to awaken those with potential into Prisma Knights through kissing. Together, Ryoma and his allies must face the threat of the world’s annihilation.

EXSTETRA features real-life Tokyo locations such as Shibuya, Akihabara, Shinjuku, and Asakusa, depicted in a mutated state and overrun by greenery. You’ll explore these environments and fight to save the world.
The battle system is turn-based, allowing you to form a party of four from a roster of Prism Knights. A key mechanic is an energy called EXS, which only the protagonist Ryoma is capable of wielding. In addition to standard special moves that consume MP, EXSTETRA’s battles revolve around powerful EXS-powered skills. Ryoma can share the EXS he absorbs from defeated enemies with his allies, but only through kissing them. By making out with your companions at the right moment, you can quickly turn the tides of battle in your favor. Rest assured, the game offers both male and female party members to kiss.

EXSTETRA’s new HD remaster seems to come with improved graphics, promising to depict a scenic fantasy Tokyo. The crucial kissing scenes have no doubt been enhanced too for a more compelling experience.
The remastered version of EXSTETRA is set to release for PC (Steam) in the Summer of 2026.
