Japanese indie game circle Denneko Yuugi revealed that their upcoming 3D roguelite action game Eternal Sakura‘s crowdfunding campaign has gathered over 1 million yen, amounting 200% of its initial goal. In a recent X post, the developer Hosenka thanked their many backers for the continued support.
The Eternal Palace Sakura crowdfunding campaign on Campfire currently sits at 1,034,250 JPY funded out of its original goal. Supporters will receive game-related merchandise depending on their chosen tier, including Steam download keys that let you play ahead of release, a mention in the game’s credits, and a personal voice message from Retla’s Japanese voice actress. The campaign runs until November 19.

Eternal Palace Sakura follows Retla Stolteins, a cat-eared dual-wielding fighter who navigates an ever-changing Japanese-style palace in search of a divine relic. The areas Retla visits change with each run, as do the loot, enemies, and events that occur.
In combat, Retla makes short work of her enemies with action-style melee combos and well-timed dodges. When her tension meter fills up, Retla can unleash a screen-clearing special move called “Over Arts.”
Unlocked attributes, weapons, and other upgrades carry over into future runs, allowing players to expand Retla’s arsenal. Players can also expand their combat options by freely assigning their skills to up to four different buttons.. According to the Steam store page description, Eternal Palace Sakura will include over 20 enemy variations, over 50 enhancement items, random event rooms, and an endless mode with infinite levels as the ultimate challenge.
Eternal Palace Sakura is set to release on November 5 for Nintendo Switch and Windows (Steam). A free demo is available now on Steam.
