XenoFeels, an upcoming space customs simulator in a similar vein to Papers, Please, has drawn attention for its “Hentai” tag on Steam. According to KotaMota Games, the tag was added by those who played the demo, not by the developers, and they humbly ask those who misleadingly tagged the game to delete it.
XenoFeels puts you in the shoes of a space customs officer tasked with weeding out the Xenos, a race hellbent on terrorizing and killing the citizens of planet Dearth. By comparing photographs and documents, as well as searching their vehicles, you can expose the impostors and are given the right to shoot them with your trusty service shotgun.
While the game contains no explicit sexual content, it does have dirty jokes, innuendos, and “lewd material.” One of the aliens in the trailer above suggestively asks if you want to conduct a “full body search” of her, while another alien comments on the size of your shotgun. Despite its evocative content, the developers have kept things within the 16+ range.
What KotaMota Games might not have known is that user-defined tags on Steam can be removed by developers if they think it is not representative of their game. Regardless, the Hentai tag has since been removed from XenoFeels, which will hopefully prevent any further misunderstandings.
XenoFeels is planned to release in 2026 for Windows (Steam). A free demo is available.
