The official Shonen Jump YouTube channel announced that the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga surpassed 220 million copies in circulation worldwide on July 17, 2025. To commemorate the event, a special commercial that aired after the Hashira Training arc anime broadcast on Fuji TV was uploaded onto the channel.
While the Demon Slayer anime has yet to finish (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle – Part 1: Akaza Returns just released in Japanese theatres), Koyoharu Gotouge’s original manga ended over five years ago. Thanks to the success of the franchise’s other media forms, the manga’s popularity remains strong to this day.
Post translation: Thanks to the constant support of all our fans, the worldwide cumulative circulation of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga has surpassed 200 million copies! The anime series is finally heading to the Infinity Castle Arc! We hope you will keep supporting both the manga and the anime. Thank you very much!
Of the 220 million Demon Slayer manga copies in circulation, 164 million copies were sold in Japan, while 56 million were from overseas (source: Yahoo! Japan). This includes physical and digital copies sold in brick-and-mortar stores and online platforms respectively. Demon Slayer is the latest of publisher Shueisha’s series to sell over 200 million copies, with the others being Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball, Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, and Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto. With only the Infinity Castle and Sunrise Countdown arcs left to go for the anime, everyone working on the franchise is hoping for the continued support of the fans.
