Cover establishes personal agency for hololive VTuber Hoshimachi Suisei

While remaining affiliated with Cover Corporation and hololive, Hoshimachi Suisei will now pursue her solo career under personal agency Studio Stellar.

On March 22, Cover Corporation and VTuber Hoshimachi Suisei announced the establishment of the latter’s personal agency, called Studio STELLAR. Studio STELLAR will provide Suisei with more freedom to “pursue her goals as an artist,” with less supervision from Cover Corp. and its hololive VTuber agency, with which she will continue to be affiliated.

Suisei will continue her collaborative and group activities as an affiliate of Cover and hololive, such as event appearances and product planning. However, her solo activities, particularly those as an artist and streamer, as well as merchandise sales and fan club management, will be handled by Studio STELLAR. Suisei’s personal talent managers at Nerd Inc. will be overseeing these parts of her career in collaboration with Cover Corp.

Hoshimachi Suisei has come a long way since her debut in 2018. Initially an indie VTuber, she auditioned for hololive but was rejected under the premise that her myriad of skills would be difficult to balance (Suisei’s streams back then consisted of her singing, dancing, drawing, and gaming, just to name a few). After asking hololive for a second chance following a rejection email, she was taken in on the condition that she would join their INoNaKa Music label. She would later join the mainline hololive lineup in 2019.

Suisei would follow up with several achievements, including being the first VTuber to appear on the popular Japanese YouTube music channel “The First Take,” surpassing 100 million views on her “BIBIDIBA” music video, and holding many live performances, all while managing her VTuber responsibilities. It’s no surprise that Cover Corp. found it fitting for her to transition to a “new support framework,” one that allows her to strengthen her solo activities. The company adds that this movement is part of its efforts to “elevate VTuber culture to the next level”, which hopefully means that the solo endeavors of other successful hololive talents will be supported in a similar way in the future.
