Angelic Agency: Soul Salvation Unit is a supernatural mystery VN following a detective duo that can peek into the memories of ghosts. Steam demo out now

Angelic Agency: Soul Salvation Unit tells the story of officer Tsujitsuma and his buddy Damian as they investigate supernatural murder cases.

Japanese indie developer YOKUNIKU has released a free Steam demo for their upcoming supernatural mystery visual novel Angelic Agency: Soul Salvation Unit.

The game follows officer Tsujitsuma, who works at the titular Angelic Agency, investigating so-called “Ghosturbance Cases” – incidents caused by ghosts and other supernatural phenomena beyond human comprehension. Once the organization assigns Tsujitsuma to investigate a certain murder case, the story takes an unexpected turn.

As Tsujitsuma, players will be solving mysteries in three distinct phases: the Conversation Part, Deduction Part, and Salvation Part. In the Conversation Part, you will be listening to characters’ stories and gathering clues and evidence through point-and-click gameplay. In the Deduction Part, you’ll use the collected evidence and testimonies to piece together the hidden truth. Tsujitsuma has the ability to see the “memories” of the dead, so digging into their past traumas will be key to solving the mysteries behind the supernatural incidents. Finally, in the Salvation Part, the player will have to reflect on the entirety of the incident and unmask the culprit.

In the recently released demo, Tsujitsuma and his “buddy cop” colleague Damian visit the arcade in order to gather evidence regarding a certain murder case in which the victim mysteriously disappeared. According to an urban legend, a “cursed” photo booth in the arcade will cause anyone who used it to go missing. While the demo only covers the opening bit of the first episode, the full game is set to consist of four episodes, each with a standalone story. According to its Steam Store page, the game also features multiple endings that depend on player choices.
