Fan video reveals why we need Phoenix Wright in Tekken 8
A fan video that explores what Phoenix Wright would look like in Tekken 8 has gone viral. Having top lawyer Phoenix Wright beat up opponents in the King of the Iron Fist tournament might seem like a stretch, but crafty use of Kazuya’s blue suit costume makes him fit right in.
The creator of the video makes use of existing costumes customized in-game. Kazuya’s hair already resembles Phoenix’s so if you ignore his scar and crazy eyebrows, he could almost pass for the Ace Attorney himself. Similarly, Jin looks a little like Miles Edgeworth when dressed in very similar clothes to Phoenix’s prosecutor rival.
Phoenix Wright fans playing Tekken think alike, it seems that many others had also played about with trying to recreate the characters from Capcom’s court drama.
Tekken has previously featured guest characters over the years such as dinosaur manga character Gon back in Tekken 3, and a motley crew of cameo appearances in Tekken 7 that included Final Fantasy XV’s Noctis, Street Fighter’s Akuma and even The Walking Dead’s Negan Smith. Bandai Namco’s other beloved fighting series Soul Calibur has also received some interesting guest appearances over the years, including Geralt from The Witcher 3, Kratos from God of War, and even Star Wars characters Yoda and Darth Vader.
Considering this varied history of additional playable characters, a future Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney crossover seems less implausible.
