Palworld players report rare cases of gigantic Pals

Palworld players have been reporting cases of Pals growing to gigantic sizes. It seems to be a rare phenomenon as there have only been a few reports. Unfortunately, it’s quite possible that this strange issue has been dealt with through recent bug fixes not listed in the patch notes.

Vixy being petted in Palworld

A Reddit user recently shared an image of the strange Palworld phenomenon with the caption, “Every time I return to my base, my lucky Vixy gets bigger.” The image shows an abnormally large Vixy that seems to barely fit into its surroundings. A few hours later, the user shared an update – in the new image, the Vixy had grown even larger, becoming visible from aerial view.

The Pal in question, Vixy, is a neutral element Pal with useful skills that allow it to gather Gold Coins, Arrows and Palspheres for you when assigned to a ranch. It inhabits a rather small area but can be found early on in the game. Normally, Vixy are about half the height of a human, but the one pictured above is even taller than surrounding trees.

Although it’s normal for Lucky Pals to be larger in size compared to regular Pals, the ginormous size of the lucky Vixy far exceeds anything that can be seen under regular circumstances. The user describes the phenomenon in the following way: “It seems to affect just the first lucky Vixy I put in the base. If I take them out of the base and into the box, then replace them, they’re normal size temporarily, but then will grow again.”

The giantism bug does not seem to affect only Vixy, as players have also been reporting cases of Pals such as Anubis and Cattiva growing to abnormal sizes, even documenting the growth via video. While rare, the bug seems to have occurred on several occasions, even being picked up by the Palworld official X account.

However, it’s possible that the bug might have already been addressed through updates – the user with an overgrown Vixy reported on February 4 that they were no longer experiencing the phenomenon, suggesting that it may have been fixed in the February 1 patch. Although there is no mention of such a fix in the patch notes, it’s possible that it was silently resolved.

Palworld is in its Early Access period, which is planned to last a minimum of one year. The developers are actively working on resolving issues and improving various aspects of the game, though some of the bugs occurring are more fun than troublesome.

Palworld is available in Early Access for the PC (Steam), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
