Apex Legends x Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth event shocks players with insanely overpowered Buster Sword
Respawn Entertainment launched the FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH Event in Apex Legends on January 10. The exclusive event includes the addition of the iconic Buster Sword, which has astonished Apex Legends players with its overpowering speed and strength.
The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Takeover Event replaces unranked Battle Royale modes and includes various features such as Materia Hop-Ups that add special abilities to weapons. But most notable is the appearance of the Buster Sword R2R5, which is based on the most memorable weapon of the Final Fantasy VII series.
The Buster Sword in Apex Legends is available exclusively in event mode and can be used for melee attacks and parrying. There are also special attacks and actions that come with cooldowns, such as launching the enemy into the air and slamming them down, and dashing towards them while blocking attacks.
In addition, the Buster Sword comes with a Limit Break. While the Limit Break is activated, your speed increases, you receive less damage from blows, and you gain unlimited use of the previously mentioned cooldown abilities. The astonishing speed and mobility of the weapon has gone viral among users, who are in fear of losing their humanity from how overpowered they feel when using it.
As the aforementioned dash can be used perpetually during Limit Break, this means that you can keep rushing at high speeds all while blocking enemy attacks. Also, if you commence the dash from an elevated position, you can move as if you’re flying through the air. The unprecedented high-speed mobility has garnered a lot of attention, and some players have even started testing the limits of what’s possible by combining existing speed-up abilities such as those of Octane and Mad Maggie.
The Buster Sword R2R5 excels in power too, with the Heavy Attack dealing a significant 60 damage in one hit. As the Limit Break increases the speed of attacks, this allows you to consign your enemy to oblivion in a matter of moments.
The Apex Legends Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Event will be held until January 30.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is scheduled to release on February 29 for the PS5.
