Creator of Yu-Gi-Oh! Kazuki Takahashi has passed away

Popular manga creator Kazuki Takahashi has passed away at age 60, NHK reports. On July 6 at around 10:30 am (JST), his body was found floating off the coast of Nago city in Okinawa prefecture. He was wearing snorkeling gear at the time. The Nago city coast guard confirmed Takahashi’s identity the following day and are currently working with local police to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
Takahashi is most well known as the creator of the manga Yu-Gi-Oh! which has also been adapted into a massively popular anime series and trading card game. There have also been many video games based on the series, including Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, which was released in January and has recorded over 250,000 concurrent players on Steam. Countless fans will no doubt mourn the sudden passing of the father of Yu-Gi-Oh!
