Cygames and Nintendo have announced that service for Dragalia Lost is coming to an end. The main story will be wrapping up in July of this year with service for the game shutting down at a later date.
Dragalia Lost is an action RPG for mobile that uses swipe controls. Service for the game began in 2018 with over one million players preregistering before the launch. The game was notable for being a collaboration between Cygames and Nintendo. The game itself sees players using a variety of actions and skills to defeat enemies. One standout feature is the system in which characters can shapeshift into dragons to borrow their power for devastating attacks.
The game also features cooperative multiplayer for up to 4 players with its limited time raid battles, and ways to interact with dragons to gain their trust and increase their prowess when called on in battle.
As for what’s in store for Dragalia Lost, the main story is scheduled to conclude in July of 2022 with part two of chapter 26. Service for the game itself is also coming to an end, with more details such as the end-of-service schedule coming at a later date.
The final set of new characters and a summon showcase are scheduled to release on March 31, 2022. After this, the game will not be receiving any new content besides the main campaign and certain quests. However, it sounds like summon showcases for existing characters and dragons, along with event revivals, will continue until service for the game comes to an end.
Dragalia Lost received its chapter 24 part 2 update to the main story just this month. The game also had a login bonus event on March 18 to celebrate the game’s 3.5 year anniversary and received new event quests on March 19. While the game has never reached massive levels of success since its launch, the game was well updated and made good use of player feedback to adjust course.
It was also announced earlier this month that the radio broadcast from voice actors Yumi Uchiyama and Ayaka Asai will be ending at the end of March. While fans were eagerly looking forward to what was in store for Dragalia Lost in its 4th year, it turns out the game will be ending in the middle of it.
